Description

In the world of Beatles autograph collecting, to have a full band signed Meet The Beatles album is truly one of the “Holy Grail” pieces. And the Ultimate would be to have a Meet The Beatles signed on their first U.S. visit in February 1964 while in New York City – their first stop on the way to “Conquering America”. Here is a first issue mono #3 Scranton, PA manufactured Meet The Beatles album cover that was autographed by John Lennon and Ringo Starr in New York City, signed for a policeman who’s daughter Norine was a huge Beatles fan. The policeman had access to and was able to get John and Ringo to sign, but at the time Paul and George were not available. Both John and Ringo have autographed this cover beautifully in blue ballpoint pen in the rectangle area that contains the 12 song titles found on the Meet The Beatles album. John at first started to sign to the left of the titles, over the biographical text that was meant to introduce America to The Beatles. He got as far as the “J”, then abandoned that idea when he realized there was a better place to sign – between the 2 columns of song titles. Both autographs are quite large as you can see when viewed in full size on your screen.
The girl for whom the album was signed, Norine Regan, has written her name in green marker and also she drew two lines under the last two songs in each column. All of this green marker can be expertly removed by a professional paper restoration conservationist and if the buyer would like that, we will recommend the best in the business and also cover the cost. A Meet The Beatles album cover signed by all four Beatles in New York City on their first U.S. visit would be worth 10 times the cost of this one signed by John Lennon and Ringo Starr.
